Origin

The 5 Hour Video was reportedly a film of the titled length, that was originaly posted somewhere on the Deep Web. The stories of what it contained seem to vary, whether that is attributed to people only remembering certain parts, or if there were multiple "segments" depicted in the film, a compilation of sorts - all descriptions were of footage dealing with alien encounters.

Around 2012/2013 discussions of the film started appearing on various blogs and internet forums, from 4chan's /x/ board, to the All This is That blog, to the now defunct Slender Man Mythos Wiki. Most of the original sources mentioning the film have been lost, as has the supposed film itself, the only things remaining being a low quality screenshot (with numerous others claimed to be from the film as well). The titular screenshot itself has been sourced to a clip from a 2005 UFO conference, narrated by Jaime Maussan - the man behind the recent "Peruvian (ET) Mummies".

Above is the only confirmed "real" screenshot from the film. This particular image is from the segment that the Five Hour Video is most known for, being descibed as a harrowing survival situation of a rural Spanish-speaking family (likely filmed in Latin America or some area in the Southern US with a large Latino population). Supposedly it was of said family trying and sadly, failing, to escape and survive hostile Aliens who were attempting to abuct them.

Other segments of the film include one described to be involving either - the Chinese Military executing multiple Grey Aliens in some undisclosed bunker location or Chinese and American troops working together to fight Grey Aliens "underground" (the same bunker?). Some posts also made mention of Russian troops as well, but not much context is given in that regard.
